Eliza X. Y. Hu

I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Decisions, Operations and Technology, CUHK Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Prof. Zhi Chen. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, supervised by Prof. Jimmy H. M. Lee. Before that, I obtained my B.E. degree in 2019 from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology.

My research interests center around the integration of machine learning and optimization. During my Ph.D. study, I focused on Predict+Optimize, a particular framework of data-driven optimization, tackling optimization problems (OPs) involving unknown parameters, which require predictions from machine learning models prior to solving. The primary challenge is the seamless integration of OPs into the machine learning training loop to produce high-quality solutions under real parameters.
